Job Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an energetic and experienced Senior Bartender to deliver consistently high standards of bar service.
In this role, you will prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, provide excellent customer service and support the effective day-to-day operation of the bar. As a senior member of the team, you will lead by example, support and develop colleagues and help maintain a professional, welcoming environment for guests.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, wines, spirits, beers and non-alcoholic options to consistently high standards.
- Ensure drinks are prepared in accordance with agreed recipes, measures and presentation standards.
- Provide excellent customer service, engaging professionally with guests, taking orders and providing recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar in accordance with food hygiene, health and safety requirements.
- Monitor stock levels, replenish supplies and assist with stock rotation, stocktakes and minimising wastage.
- Support the training and development of new and junior team members.
- Provide guidance and support to the bar team during busy service periods.
- Process cash and card transactions accurately using the relevant POS system.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including bar preparation and cash-up duties where required.
- Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and responsible alcohol service procedures.
- Recognise signs of intoxication and take appropriate action in accordance with company procedures and licensing requirements.
- Work collaboratively with restaurant, events and other hotel departments to ensure an excellent guest experience.
- Support the Bar Supervisor/Manager and assume additional responsibility for the bar operation when required.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork and high standards of hospitality at all times.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Bartender, Senior Bartender or similar role within a busy bar, restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment.
- Experience working independently and taking responsibility for maintaining service standards during busy periods.
- Previous experience supporting, training or providing guidance to junior members of a bar or hospitality team is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, cocktails and standard measures.
- Practical cocktail preparation and presentation experience, including a good understanding of classic cocktails.
- Experience using POS/till systems and handling cash and card transactions accurately.
- Experience with bar opening and closing procedures, stock replenishment and basic stock control.
- Good understanding of responsible alcohol service and licensing requirements.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, allergen awareness and health and safety requirements within a hospitality environment.
- A recognised Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (SCPLH) qualification is desirable, particularly where the role involves supervising alcohol sales.
- A relevant hospitality qualification, such as an SVQ in Hospitality Services or Food and Beverage Service, is desirable but not essential.
- Previous hotel, functions, weddings or events experience would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the confidence to engage with a wide range of guests.
- Ability to remain professional, organised and composed while managing multiple priorities during busy service periods.
- A flexible and team-focused approach, including availability to work evenings, weekends and other shifts in line with business requirements.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
