Overview
Reporting to the Factory Manager, the successful candidates will be required to polish and tap stainless steel rings to the required quality standards, ensuring all components meet customer specifications and company quality requirements whilst maintaining safe working practices.
Responsibilities
- Polish stainless steel rings using manual polishing equipment.
- Tap internal threads in stainless steel rings using tapping machines.
- Inspect components before, during, and after processing to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections.
- Ensure threaded holes meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.
- Use measuring equipment such as thread gauges, verniers, micrometers, and calipers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with the company housekeeping standards.
- Report defects, damaged tooling, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
- Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of polishing and tapping equipment.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining high quality standards.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE
- Operate polishing equipment and hand tools to refine stainless steel rings, ensuring smooth surfaces and consistent finishes.
- Experience
- Prior experience in fabrication or metal work would be an advantage, but full training will be given
- Good attention to detail is essential
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
