Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care facility. The ideal candidate will plan, implement, and oversee engaging activities tailored to the needs of older adults, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents through creative and person-centred programmes.
Duties
- Develop and coordinate a diverse programme of activities that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents.
- Tailor activities to meet individual needs, preferences, and abilities, especially for residents requiring specialised dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Facilitate group events, outings, and one-on-one engagement sessions to foster community spirit and personal fulfilment.
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with care plans and support residents’ health and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to continually improve activity offerings.
- Source and organise resources, materials, and equipment necessary for various activities.
- Promote a positive environment that encourages participation and enjoyment among residents.
Skills
- Experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills to plan and execute engaging programmes.
- Ability to adapt activities for residents with diverse needs and mobility levels.
- Previous caregiving or care home experience will be advantageous but is not mandatory. This role provides an enriching opportunity to contribute positively to the lives of older adults through meaningful engagement and personalised activities.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
