Job Overview
We are currently recruiting a Nursery Assistant to join our team. This will be a permanent position- 40 hours per week. The successful applicant will join an established team and will support the delivery of high-quality childcare, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding care that promotes the welfare, safety, and development of every child.
- Observe, assess, and record each child's progress, producing accurate observation reports and identifying any developmental concerns.
- Build positive, caring, and respectful relationships with children, supporting their emotional, social, and educational development.
- Prepare learning environments before children arrive in accordance with daily plans and maintain clean, organised rooms throughout the day.
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children by following safeguarding procedures, completing daily safety checks, and carrying out risk assessments.
- Assist with the preparation and supervision of snacks while promoting healthy eating and good hygiene practices.
- Support the planning and delivery of stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.
- Participate in nursery events, open days, educational trips, and other activities that enhance the children's experiences.
- Attend staff meetings, room meetings, and contribute positively to team discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete all mandatory training and participate in ongoing professional development to maintain high standards of practice.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with nursery policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Essential:
- Must hold a level 3 qualification in childcare.
- Valid driving licence is essential for supporting nursery outings or transportation needs.
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their learning and development.
- Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record children's progress accurately.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Desirable
- First aid trained.
- Child Protection trained
