This is an important operational role where you’ll support service delivery, guide and develop colleagues, maintain strong records and controls, and help ensure our depot operations are safe, compliant and customer-focused.

- Support the recruitment, onboarding and induction of new colleagues, ensuring a structured and positive start with the business.
- Carry out one-to-one reviews, provide feedback, agree development actions and support colleague performance.
- Manage attendance, probationary reviews, investigations, disciplinary meetings and related employee relations processes in line with company policy.
- Oversee the drug and alcohol testing process for new starters, random testing and for-cause testing, ensuring confidentiality and consistency.
- Monitor daily service performance, lost mileage, delays, resource availability and operational risks.
- Ensure VDF sheets, allocation records, irregularity forms and other operational records are completed accurately and on time.
- Work closely with engineering teams to support fleet readiness, inspections, MOTs and vehicle availability.
- Ensure colleagues follow DVSA, Traffic Commissioner, driver hours, working time and company driving standards.
- Maintain accurate records relating to incidents, training, certifications, accidents and follow-up actions.
- Monitor driver performance data, including GreenRoad scores and observed behaviours, arranging coaching or training where required.
- Communicate operational changes, diversions and service disruption clearly through approved staff communication channels.
- Build strong working relationships with engineering, operations, training, HR and senior management colleagues.
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
- A valid PCV licence.
- Experience in a transport, logistics, depot, supervisory or operational management role.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to coach, support and develop colleagues.
- A calm, confident and practical approach to solving operational issues.
- Good knowledge of safety, compliance and record-keeping requirements within a regulated environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence completing accurate administration.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational setting.
- A fair, consistent and professional approach when dealing with colleague matters.
- A strong commitment to safety, customer service and reliable service delivery.
Experience within the bus, coach or wider passenger transport industry is essential.
- A key operational leadership role with an established transport operator.
- A varied and rewarding position where every day is different.
- The opportunity to support and develop frontline colleagues.
- Ongoing training and development.
- A supportive depot and management team.
- The opportunity to make a real difference to service delivery and the communities we serve.
If you’re an experienced supervisor or operational leader who takes pride in supporting people, maintaining high standards and delivering safe, reliable services, we’d love to hear from you.
