Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a creative flair for menu development, and extensive knowledge of food safety standards. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining an organised, efficient, and hygienic environment. Responsibilities
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to diverse customer preferences
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high standards of culinary excellence and service
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor quality control throughout the cooking process to uphold consistency and excellence in all dishes
- Assist in organising catering events and special functions as required
- Maintain a positive and motivating work environment for all team members
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior culinary role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Extensive culinary expertise with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management
- Experience with menu development, cost control, and inventory management
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and suppliers
- Previous experience in restaurant settings is highly desirable; catering experience is a plus
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred
