Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Office Administrator to support our operational functions. The successful candidate will manage various administrative tasks, facilitate communication across departments, and assist with logistics and supply chain processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong analysis and data entry skills, as well as experience in logistics and shipping management systems. The Office Administrator will play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within our organisation.
Duties
- Transport Administrator to join its busy depot . Operating within a national distribution network, the business supports customers across the region with reliable and time-critical deliveries. This is a key operational role offering the opportunity to work at the centre of a fast-paced environment, supporting daily logistics activity while delivering a high level of customer service. The position plays an important part in ensuring consignments move efficiently, issues are resolved quickly and communication remains clear across customers, drivers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
. Managing customer, depot and end-recipient enquiries via phone, email and front desk
. Tracking consignments and resolving delivery issues including late, held, damaged or missing freight
. Liaising with drivers, warehouse and management to coordinate daily operations
. Supporting drivers with route planning, delivery queries and collections
. Planning and managing daily collections to ensure efficiency and effective routing
. Conducting driver debriefs, ensuring all issues are recorded, communicated and resolved
. Investigating failsafe reports and missing pallets.
. Ensuring all outbound freight is correctly labelled and prepared for dispatch
. Maintaining accurate system input across internal and network platforms
. Managing customer claims and maintaining clear communication throughout
. Supporting general administration, stock control and warehouse operations as required
. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures
About You
. Experience within a fast-paced, customer-facing role, ideally within logistics or transport
. Strong communication skills with a confident and professional telephone manner
. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
. A proactive problem solver who can work effectively under pressure
. Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach
. Experience within a parcel, logistics or distribution environment would be advantageous
