We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Pot Wash / Café Assistant to join our friendly team at our busy farm shop café.
This role is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, making it ideal for someone looking for regular weekend work.
You'll play an important part in keeping our café running smoothly by ensuring all crockery, cutlery and equipment are cleaned to a high standard, while helping to maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Washing crockery, cutlery, cups, glasses and café equipment.
- Keeping the pot wash and service areas clean and organised.
- Assisting with general cleaning and tidying throughout the café.
- Supporting the café team during busy periods.
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
We're looking for someone who:

- Previous experience is welcome but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as assembling ingredients and setting up workstations
- Support the cafe team by serving customers, taking orders, and providing friendly service
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including clearing tables and sweeping floors
- Restock supplies and ensure all necessary items are readily available for smooth service flow
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to create a safe working environment for all team members
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is preferred but not essential — we welcome eager learners!
- Strong understanding of restaurant or kitchen operations, with a focus on cleanliness and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and team members
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of basic food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings as needed
- Prior experience in hotel or culinary environments is a plus but not mandatory
