Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy manufacturing and warehouse operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both production and warehousing activities, ensuring customer orders are manufactured, processed and dispatched safely, accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who is confident managing people, workloads and operational performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will lead the site-based teams, coordinate resources, monitor quality and productivity, and ensure high standards are maintained across all areas of the site.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the production and warehouse operations.
- Lead, manage and motivate production and warehouse employees.
- Plan workloads, staffing and resources in line with customer demand and operational priorities.
- Ensure blinds and associated products are manufactured accurately and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor production targets, workflow and order progress to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Oversee warehouse activities, including picking, cutting, labelling, packing, stock replenishment and dispatch.
- Ensure materials, components and finished products are handled and stored correctly.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and address shortages, damaged items or discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure employees are correctly trained to use industrial machinery, equipment and hand tools.
- Monitor quality throughout the production process and resolve any recurring issues.
- Manage rotas, holidays, absence and workforce coverage.
- Monitor employee attendance, conduct and performance, addressing concerns fairly and consistently.
- Provide regular feedback, coaching and support to employees.
- Work with HR and senior management on performance improvement or disciplinary matters where required.
- Ensure Health and Safety policies, safe working practices and company procedures are followed at all times.
- Ensure accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses are reported and investigated appropriately.
- Monitor site KPIs, productivity, quality, accuracy and service levels.
- Identify operational risks or delays and implement practical corrective actions.
- Look for opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, quality and overall site performance.
- Provide clear updates to senior management regarding staffing, performance, risks and operational priorities.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience managing a production, manufacturing, warehouse or operational site.
- Experience leading and developing production and warehouse teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, warehouse operations and stock control.
- Confident managing productivity, quality, staffing and operational performance.
- Experience managing attendance, conduct, performance, rotas and annual leave.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Ability to plan resources and workloads effectively.
- Comfortable using KPIs and operational data to monitor and improve performance.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Calm and practical when working under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- A fair, supportive and consistent approach to people management.
About you
You will be a visible and approachable manager who is comfortable spending time on the production floor and within the warehouse. You will take ownership of the site, support employees to perform at their best and act quickly when operational issues arise.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
