SHEQ Officer
We're looking for an experienced SHEQ Officer to with demolition experience to support, demolition enabling works and specialist contracting projects across multiple sites.
This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and operatives to promote a positive safety culture, ensure legal compliance and drive high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out SHEQ site inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
- Provide practical HSEQ advice and support to site teams.
- Review RAMS, COSHH assessments and Construction Phase Plans.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and workforce briefings.
- Review subcontractor RAMS and monitor contractor performance.
- Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Produce inspection reports and promote continuous improvement across projects.
You'll Have
- Experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ or Health & Safety role within construction, civil engineering, demolition or enabling works.
- Strong practical site experience and knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Experience carrying out audits, inspections, incident investigations and RAMS reviews.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- SMSTS
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor experience
- Temporary Works Coordinator
- Environmental qualification
