Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality residential care to children aged 7-17 years. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children's development, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive environment. Responsibilities
- Assist children with daily activities, including prompting with personal hygiene, diet, and independence.
- Implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Support children's emotional well-being through engaging activities and attentive communication
- Supervise children during outings, appointments, and recreational activities, including driving when necessary
- Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and educational staff to ensure consistent care
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the child's condition or behaviour
- Utilise IT tools to update documentation and communicate effectively with team members
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a care or childcare setting is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive children safely to appointments or activities
- Knowledge of child development and childcare practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes
- Ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service, including occasional evening or weekend shifts if required
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
