We are recruiting for an Assistant Manager to join a busy drive-thru restaurant in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced operation where you'll support the General Manager in delivering exceptional customer service, driving team performance and maintaining the highest operational standards.

The Role
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, helping to lead a team of around 30 employees across a 7-day operation. The restaurant is open from 7:00am to 11:00pm, with a variety of shift patterns.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the restaurant
- Leading and motivating the team during shifts
- Ensuring excellent customer service at all times
- Maintaining brand standards and company compliance
- Assisting with staff training, coaching and development
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new team members
- Managing labour, productivity and staffing levels during shifts
- Monitoring KPIs and supporting operational reporting
- Assisting with stock control, production levels and reducing waste
- Ensuring food safety, cleanliness and health & safety standards are met
- Supporting the business in achieving sales and profitability targets
- Helping the restaurant achieve excellent audit results
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Shift Manager or Supervisor within a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), fast food or drive-thru environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume operation
- Good understanding of KPIs, labour management and operational standards
- Confidence managing shifts and supporting team performance
- A positive attitude with a passion for developing people and delivering great customer service
- Flexible with shift patterns
