Responsibilities
- Supervise the end-to-end payroll process for both the UK and Canadian payroll with the support of an Advisor on both payrolls doing the daily processing. UK 2000 and Canada 1000 currently on fortnightly and monthly runs
- Manage payroll reconciliations, audits and reporting
- Responsible for payroll compliance and statutory payments
- Be the point of contact for any complex queries
- Manage payroll policies and procedures
- Work with the wider business to build and deliver payroll strategy
- Supervise, coach and support two Payroll Advisors one in the UK and one in Canada
- Working closely with the HR and Finance teams
- Payroll analysis
- Monitor payroll KPIs and service levels
- Lead on all payroll projects such as pay reviews
- Maintain and ensure a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement
- Manage holiday planning and absences within the team
- Conduct performance reviews, provide training and professional development
Skills
- Experience running large global payrolls ideally Canadian
- Strong leadership skills to drive and support the team
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- CIPP qualified / member
- Good systems and Excel
- High attention to detail
- Confident and a good communicator
- Team worker
- Flexible to work a shifted pattern for 6 days a month (11:00am-7:00pm)
