We are part of the Express Engineering Group who employ more than 300 employees across the two companies, Express Engineering (Gateshead) and Express Engineering (Fabrications) (trading as QA Weld Tech).
We are currently seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator with a current CSWIP 3.1 weld inspector certification, or recognised equivalent, to join our team.
To be successful in this Welder Fabricator role at Express Engineering, you will:
- Be a time-served Welder/Fabricator with an NVQ level 3 in welding and fabrication, or equivalent.
- Hold a current CSWIP 3.1 welding inspection certification (or recognised equivalent).
- Have proven Experience in TIG, MIG and / or SMAW manual welding.
- Have proven experience in fabrication working to detailed engineering drawings.
- Be experienced in working to and strictly following approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs)
- Be familiar with a wide range of materials including non-ferrous, aluminium, alloy Steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium.
- Have a can-do attitude and work well with others in a team environment.
- Be flexible in your approach - willing to work overtime when required to suit customer requirements.
- Be willing to increase your knowledge and train on other welding processes.
- Be willing to pass on your knowledge and train others.
As with all positions, due to the nature and varying demands of our business, the responsibilities and tasks are not limited to this overview and may change to meet future demands.
After an initial training period you will work a permanent weekend shift including Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 7:30am to 4:45pm.
