Salary: £24,853 - £25,166 per annum
Hours: 30 hours per week
Contract: Permanent - Full Time or Part Time
Work Pattern: Flexible rota across 7 days

We're looking for a Horticultural Support Worker to join our Market Garden team at Elm Tree Farm. This is a rewarding role where you'll combine your interest in horticulture with person-centred support, helping people with learning disabilities and autistic people develop new skills, build confidence and contribute to a thriving social enterprise.
Working alongside our Horticulture Project Leader, you'll support co-farmers to take part in all aspects of growing seasonal produce, from preparing the ground and sowing seeds through to harvesting crops and supporting customer deliveries. You'll help create an inclusive, safe and enjoyable environment where people can thrive and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people to achieve their personal goals and develop new skills.

Assisting with a wide range of horticultural activities including ground preparation, sowing, planting, crop care and harvesting.

Helping co-farmers take part safely and confidently in day-to-day Market Garden activities.

Supporting the production of high-quality homegrown produce for customers and the local community.

Assisting with customer orders, deliveries and sales activities.

Maintaining accurate records and contributing to outcome-focused support planning.

Supporting the safe use of tools, equipment and machinery.

Following health and safety procedures, risk assessments and COSHH guidance at all times.

Helping to maintain a welcoming, inclusive and productive working environment.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, professionals and community partners to support positive outcomes.
You might already be working as a Support Worker, Horticultural Assistant, Gardener, Community Support Worker or Farm Worker. We also welcome applications from people with horticultural experience who are interested in supporting others.
We'll be looking for someone who:

Has a good understanding of horticulture and practical growing methods.

Enjoys working outdoors in a hands-on environment.

Is passionate about supporting people to learn, develop and succeed.

Has strong communication and teamwork skills.

Is organised, reliable and able to work flexibly.

Can safely use tools and equipment or is willing to learn.

Has basic IT skills for recording information and outcomes.

Holds a horticultural qualification, Health & Social Care qualification or a full driving licence (desirable but not essential).

Has experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or within a social enterprise environment (desirable).
