Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of projects
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform fabrication and carpentry tasks as required for custom fittings or structural support
- Use welding skills when necessary for metal roofing components or repairs
- Apply knowledge of plumbing and masonry when integrating roofing with other building systems
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to ensure efficient workflow
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries at height or on scaffolding
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality
Skills
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings relevant to roofing projects
- Experience with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and construction processes
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools specific to roofing tasks
- Knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques, and safety standards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Strong understanding of safety procedures when working at heights or with hazardous materials
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour in various weather conditions
