Swales Diamonds is an independent, family-run fine jewellery business based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. We specialise in bespoke engagement rings, wedding rings, and luxury jewellery, combining traditional craftsmanship with a modern, personal approach. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and building long- term relationships with our clients.
The Role
We are looking for a warm, professional, and customer-focused Boutique & Retail Assistant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about luxury retail, enjoys working closely with customers, and takes pride in delivering outstanding service. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every client who visits our showroom.
Key Responsibilities
Providing exceptional, personalised customer service to all clients
Welcoming customers and supporting them throughout their showroom visit
Assisting with enquiries about engagement rings, wedding rings, and bespoke jewellery Supporting private consultations and appointments
Managing bookings, customer records, and follow-ups
Handling sales transactions and processing payments accurately
Maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and showroom presentation Supporting stock management and basic administration
Assisting with aftercare services, resizing, repairs, and collections
Representing the Swales Diamonds brand with professionalism at all times
Supporting marketing and social media activity where appropriate
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
Friendly, confident, and well-presented
Passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences
Naturally organised with strong attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Comfortable working with high-value items
Able to communicate clearly and build rapport with clients
Confident using basic IT systems, email, and booking software
Willing to learn about diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery craftsmanship
Previous experience in luxury retail, jewellery, fashion, or hospitality is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
