Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient delivery driver to join our small, customer-focused team in our busy BUILDERS MERCHANT based in NG2 Nottingham.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation by performing various tasks related to the handling, storage, distribution and delivery of goods. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Working Hours
7:30-5pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays)
Duties
- Delivery of building materials to customers by van (3.5 tonne)
- Manual handling of building materials (timber, 1120x2440mm sheet material, insulation & plasterboard).
- Provide high levels of customer service whilst carrying out deliveries
- Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.
- Assist with order picking and packing for deliveries, ensuring accuracy in fulfilling customer requests.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks and report discrepancies to management.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding deliveries
- Yard support where needed
Qualifications
- A clean valid driving licence is essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg unaided) as required by the role.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork and operational efficiency.
A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining productivity levels in a fast-paced environment.
