About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing team, delivering responsive repairs and planned maintenance within the social housing sector.
The successful candidate will carry out high-quality carpentry work while also completing a range of general maintenance tasks to ensure properties are safe, well-maintained, and ready for tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of first and second fix carpentry
- Install, repair, and replace doors, frames, skirting, kitchens, locks, flooring, and other timber products
- Complete multi-trade repairs including basic plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, painting, and minor decorating
- Diagnose maintenance issues and carry out effective repairs on occupied and void properties
- Deliver excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company and industry standards
- Accurately complete job reports using a mobile device
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter, ideally within social housing, property maintenance, or repairs
- Competent in a range of additional trades
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- Relevant trade qualifications are desirable but not essential with proven experience
