About the Client:
Our client is a highly successful, rapidly expanding Electrical and M&E contracting firm based in County Tyrone. Known for delivering premier electrical installations, commercial switchgear packages, and industrial building services across the UK and Ireland, they are scaling their commercial team due to a major pipeline of new contract wins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical and commercial pricing of electrical packages, commercial containment runs, and industrial lighting/power systems from initial enquiry to final tender return.
- Conduct meticulous material take-offs from 2D drawings and schematics, building detailed cost estimates and project budgets.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate competitive pricing loops with electrical wholesalers, suppliers, and specialised sub-contractors.
- Identify project risks and propose value engineering alternatives to improve project profitability while maintaining technical compliance.
- Track variations, manage pricing documentation, and collaborate directly with project managers and quantity surveyors.
- Liaise confidently with clients, consulting engineers, and main contractors throughout the bidding process.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a time-served electrical trade background with proven estimating experience.
- 2–5 years' experience pricing commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential electrical installation packages.
- Proficient with electrical estimation and take-off software (such as Trimble, Countfire, Cypher, or Bluebeam).
- Strong understanding of current wiring regulations, material costs, and labour metrics within the M&E sector.
- Highly organised with excellent mathematical and commercial negotiation capabilities.
