Due to ongoing growth, we are looking to recruit a keen, enthusiastic and reliable Warehouse Apprentice to join our Stores/Warehouse team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in warehousing, stores, purchasing and supply chain operations. You will provide day-to-day support to our Service and Installation departments while developing practical skills and gaining experience across the wider business.
During your apprenticeship, you will spend time working within different areas of the company to gain a solid all-round understanding of our operations, the products and equipment we supply, and how our departments work together to deliver an excellent service to our customers.
The successful candidate will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operator Apprenticeship Standard, combining practical workplace experience with structured learning and development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Working alongside the Stores team, your duties will include:
- Receiving incoming goods and checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Inspecting deliveries for shortages, damage or discrepancies and reporting any issues.
- Accurately booking goods into the appropriate stock and warehouse systems.
- Unloading, moving, handling and safely storing materials, equipment and stock.
- Picking, packing and preparing goods for despatch.
- Preparing and checking delivery and despatch documentation where required.
- Ensuring goods are correctly labelled and allocated to the appropriate storage or job location.
- Preparing job boxes, parts and equipment for the Service Department, ensuring engineers have the correct materials required for scheduled work.
- Preparing materials and equipment for installation projects as required.
- Assisting with stock control, including stock checks, cycle counts and maintaining accurate stock records.
- Helping to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Keeping warehouse and stores areas organised, clean and safe at all times.
- Carrying out general housekeeping duties within the warehouse, stores and other areas as required.
- Following company procedures relating to manual handling, health and safety and safe working practices.
- Assisting the Stores team with the day-to-day operation and organisation of the warehouse.
- Supporting the purchasing process, including raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate purchasing records.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding prices, availability, lead times and delivery dates.
- Following up outstanding purchase orders and communicating any potential delays to the relevant colleagues.
- Developing an understanding of stock requirements and assisting with ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
- Working closely with the Service, Installation and other departments to ensure materials and equipment are available when required.
- Assisting with general administrative duties associated with stores, purchasing and warehouse operations.
- Using company IT systems and Microsoft Office applications to maintain accurate records and information.
- Undertaking training and development activities required as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Supporting other areas of the business where required to develop a broad understanding of the company's operations.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility.
Apprenticeship and Development
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will receive practical, hands-on training and support from experienced members of the team.
You will work towards the Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operator Apprenticeship Standard, developing knowledge and practical skills in areas including:
- Warehouse and stores operations
- Goods receiving and despatch
- Stock control and inventory management
- Safe handling and movement of goods
- Supply chain processes
- Purchasing and supplier communication
- Customer and internal service
- Workplace health and safety
- IT systems and record keeping
- Teamwork and communication
We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, take responsibility and gradually become more independent as their knowledge and experience develop.

Previous warehouse experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
Total hours per week: 40 hours
