We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis.
This is a hands-on retail role. Your main responsibility will be helping customers in store, processing sales, keeping the shop presentable and supporting the day-to-day running of the business.
You do not need to know everything about every trading card game, but an interest in Pokémon, TCGs, tabletop games, collectibles or hobby retail would be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Serve customers using the store till and payment systems.
- Help customers find products and answer basic questions.
- Keep shelves, displays and product areas tidy, organised and well presented.
- Replenish stock on the shop floor when required.
- Help receive, check and put away deliveries.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including counter areas, shelves and customer spaces.
- Assist with basic customer enquiries in person, by phone or through store channels where required.
- Support the team during busy periods, product launches and in-store events.
- Follow store procedures for cash handling, security, stock and customer service.
- Escalate customer complaints, stock issues or more complex questions to a supervisor or owner.
Essential Requirements
- Available to work every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
- Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with customers.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently when needed.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic IT confidence, including learning till and stock systems.
- Able to keep a shop floor clean, tidy and organised.
- Comfortable working in a busy retail environment.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous retail, hospitality or customer service experience.
- Interest in trading card games, Warhammer, Pokémon, collectibles or tabletop gaming.
- Experience using a till, EPOS system or handling cash.
- Experience working in an independent shop or small team.
