PSV Driver – School Transport
We are looking for a reliable, professional and friendly PSV Driver to join our team, primarily operating a school transport contract Monday to Friday.
This is an ideal role for an experienced PSV driver looking for consistent weekday work, with the opportunity to take on additional weekend work when available.
The Role
The position involves operating a dedicated school transport service during term time, transporting passengers safely and professionally to and from school.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Approximately 2 hours AM and 2 hours PM
- 20 contracted hours per week
- Split-shift working pattern
- Additional weekend work available for drivers wishing to work extra hours
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a PSV/minibus or coach on an allocated school route
- Ensure passengers are transported safely, comfortably and punctually
- Complete daily vehicle walkaround and defect checks
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner with passengers, parents, Passenger Assistants and school staff
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable
- Follow company procedures, safeguarding requirements and relevant road transport regulations
- Report vehicle defects, incidents or operational concerns promptly
- Maintain excellent standards of driving and vehicle care
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a full UK Category D1 or Category D PSV driving licence
- Hold a valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card
- Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card where required
- Have a good driving record
- Be punctual, dependable and professional
- Be comfortable working on school transport services and around children and young people
- Be able to complete the required safeguarding and background checks
An Enhanced DBS will be required for this role.
Previous PSV, coach, minibus or school transport experience is desirable, although we welcome applications from suitable professional PSV drivers from other backgrounds.
