The North Kelvin Sports Development Group are a registered charity based in north-west Glasgow with the stated aims of inclusiveness, opportunity, and access for all. As a grass-roots organisation we offer our entire community sports participation, education and coaching and volunteering opportunities.
The group runs North Kelvin Utd, a well-established Scottish FA Quality Mark Platinum Club which provides weekly football coaching and games for teams at all ages including Girls and Adults.
The club's motto is 'Oportunitas', coming from the Latin meaning: fitness, advantage and opportunity.
Purpose of the Post
The post will require the successful candidate to develop the football club at all age levels and formats of the game. This will be achieved by recruiting, developing, and retaining players and coaches across the club.
Our established youth and adult teams currently play matches in a variety of accredited leagues.
Training sessions currently take place in the North Kelvinside Primary School 3G Facility and matches are played at a various venues.
This is a position of importance and influence as the football club should be led in a dynamic and successful style in the continued football development for our players and coaches.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead coaching on the training pitch.
· Recruit, develop and retain players at all age groups.
· Recruit, develop and retain coaches at all age groups.
· To register & administer all club teams and players with SFA, SYFA & League bodies.
· To be proficient in the use of the SFA COMET System.
· To deliver regular coaching CPD sessions to club coaches
· To deliver Community Funded Projects & Commercial Activities as required
· To complete all SFA Quality Mark administration requirements
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure that you are well briefed about any special needs of the players involved i.e., medical condition/disabilities.
- Make players & coaches aware of their progress.
- Abide by and promote the club code of conduct, child protection, fair play, and equal opportunities to all members.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that the equipment is correct and is kept in good working order.
- Be aware of and follow the procedures for health & safety & recording accidents.
Qualifications and Experience
· Minimum ‘C’ Coaching Licence (or equivalent)
· Full Driving Licence
· Enhanced PVG clearance
· Sports First Aid Qualification
