Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Deputy Manager for our care home, dedicated to delivering exceptional senior care and fostering a warm, supportive environment for residents. In this vital leadership role, you will assist the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of care, and supervising staff to create a safe, respectful, and engaging community. Your expertise in assisted living, dementia care, and nursing will drive quality service delivery while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Duties
- Support the Home Manager in managing the overall running of the care home, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Lead and supervise care staff, providing guidance on delivering person-centered care tailored to individual needs
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing personalized care plans for residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Oversee medication administration processes to ensure safety and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Promote best practices in nursing and senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Monitor compliance with health and safety standards, safeguarding policies, and regulatory guidelines
- Foster a positive team environment through leadership, training, and supervision to enhance staff performance
- Engage actively with residents and their families to ensure their needs are met with dignity and respect
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of care staff to maintain high-quality service delivery
- Participate in audits and inspections to uphold quality standards within the care home
Experience
- Proven experience working within assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior care
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience within a care home setting
- Strong background in dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and medication administration
- Knowledge of developing and implementing effective care plans tailored to individual needs
- Experience in managing staff teams, fostering leadership skills, and promoting continuous improvement
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations applicable to residential or home care settings
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, staff, and external professionals
Essential Qualifications
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards achieving it.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Relevant qualification in health and social care.
Desirable Qualifications
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with an active PIN.
- Registered Nurse qualification.
