Job Overview
We are on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our procurement team. In this role, you’ll be a key player in sourcing and purchasing materials and products to keep our operations running smoothly. You’ll work closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality standards are met. Duties
- Support, identify and evaluate new suppliers for allocated categories and bench marking
- Manage stock levels, lead times and consumption trends for allocated materials.
- Expedite outstanding orders, and shortages to members of the purchashing team.
- Monitor raw material costs and exploring cost reductions through the EPD process.
- Maintain accurate, up to date records in the ERP/ Procurement system, including pricing, lead times and supplier details.
- Produce regular reports on order status, spend and supplier performance.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing or relating area (desirable)
- Level 2 or 3 CIPS Qualification (desirable)
Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with close attention to detail
- Good communication and negotitation skills both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple orders, suppliers and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and outlook, able to learn ERP/MRP and procurement systems.
Experience
- Prior experience in a purchasing, supply change, administration or customer service role.
- Exposure to manufacturing, raw material environment would be an advantage.
- Experience of using an ERP/MRP system would be beneficial.
