Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic cook/ kitchen assistant to join our fast food takeaway .The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen. Candidate will also be expected to answer calls and take orders, and also serve walk in customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a professional fast kitchen environment.
Experience is preferred although a person with a positive attitude towards working hard and learning will be considered
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organising ingredients
- Support cooking activities under supervision,to start , ensuring timely good quality meal production
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces, cleaning fridges , cooking appliances etc
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Help with meal assembly and presentation to meet quality standards
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment for all staffSkills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- General Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working in a takeaway ,restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous but not necessarily essential for someone with initiative
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills
- Candidate must show iniative and be fully able to follow instructions, with the expectation that they eventually no longer require supervision
Pay: £12.71-£12.72 per hour
