Sessional hours availability between 7.00 am & 3.00 pm.
At least 1 years experience in a commercial kitchen. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, both in working methods and personal hygiene, making sure that the food and equipment in the kitchen is always clean and in the right place. They will directly interact with customers at a retail counter, providing customer service by greeting them, taking orders, processing payments, handling product inquiries, and ensuring a smooth transaction while maintaining the cleanliness of the service area; essentially acting as the first point of contact for customers in a shop or establishment. Work with the Café Manager in assisting young people undertaking work placements.
The main responsibilities of the post will be to operate the café till and undertake other miscellaneous duties within the Common Good Café. The job holder will maintain hygiene levels in the kitchen, ensure that food preparation areas are clean and hygienic. Clean utensils, food preparation equipment, other tools and kitchen floors. The successful applicant will prepare ingredients for the chefs including washing and chopping alongside dealing with basic orders – hot rolls, toasties etc. The job will involve unloading deliveries and managing the storage cupboards. Assist in the preparation and food and cooking. They will also work and coach young people who are undertaking work placements within the café.
Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.

Pay: £13.45 per hour
