Who we are and what we do:
A fossil and crystal wholesaler established in 1970s We are housed in a warehouse, with a showroom, offices, workshop and small staff kitchen. The owners work closely with the staff team – we currently number 5 altogether.
Where we are:
On a small industrial estate off the M5 near Bristol, very well serviced by rail, road and park and ride.
Our ethos:
Working as a team is particularly important to us. We enjoy our unusual work and provide a very warm welcome to customers. We value good communication and straightforward business practice. Loyalty and trust are vital in this small business.
The work is varied. At times when there are no visiting customers, we are always busy with maintenance, product and business development. However, there are regularly times when we are busy working together to serve customers in house and such times require to keep a calm head under pressure. In particular, good spelling, numeracy, keyboard and computer skills are vital to this particular role.
We are very active. The location is cold in winter and hot in summer, is located over two floors, accessed by stairs and the nature of the stock means that moderate lifting is a routine part of the job.
At the same time, working with customers in the showroom calls for good appearance and hygiene as well as practical dress.
The postholder will be managed/coached by the business owners and will be well supported by other team members. We operate a very flat structure which means that whilst no member of staff is responsible for managing any other staff, each will develop the skills to work somewhat autonomously in their own area over time. We believe this is an interesting role in which you would be supported to develop a broad base of skills across the business. You are welcome to call us FFI. Please apply by sending an email to us at Fossils. Thank you for your interest!
