Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Second Chef to join our professional culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and supervising kitchen staff. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting menu items with consistency and flair.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient teamwork and adherence to food safety standards.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring all dishes meet quality specifications and presentation standards.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of orders and optimal customer satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team atmosphere.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste through effective resource management.
- Ensure all food preparation complies with hygiene standards and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality is advantageous.
