Waking/Sleeping Night Carers – Poulton (2 Positions Available)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:00pm – 8:00am, and some days, as and when required.

About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable Waking/Sleeping Night Carers to join a dedicated home care team supporting a bright, sociable and charismatic 12-year-old girl with complex physical, cognitive and health needs. She is the heart of a loving family and enjoys company, humour, and her favourite characters - Alvin and the Chipmunks!
She requires 24/7 support and is totally dependent on others for all aspects of her care. She uses Eye Gaze technology to communicate, alongside simple yes/no signing, and receives all nutrition, fluids and medication via PEG. She is a wheelchair user, experiences seizures, and requires full assistance with moving, handling, and personal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, responsive overnight care, remaining in the client’s room throughout the shift
- Support with repositioning, comfort measures, pain management and personal care
- Monitor her closely throughout the night, as sleep can be unpredictable
- Begin the morning routine from 6:30am (depending on shift end time)
- Maintain accurate records and complete a detailed handover at the end of every shift
- Work collaboratively with a supportive, professional care team
Essential Experience
- Experience supporting a client with complex physical and cognitive disabilities
- Competent with complex care routines including PEG feeding/medication administration
- Confidence supporting a young person with seizures
- Ability to deliver safe and respectful moving and handling support
