Positions available across four site locations in Plymouth
We are seeking individuals with strong practical hand skills, working with wood interiors or fittings, coming from a background of; shopfitting, construction finishing trades, set building or event production build.
Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the construction of high-quality luxury yachts! You’ll be responsible for installing furniture, fittings, basic plumbing, and other key components, ensuring every luxury yacht is built to the highest standards.
We will welcome applications from career changers and skilled trades people looking to apply their experience in a new industry.
Main responsibilities:
- Scribe in furniture and trim/adjust to shape and size requirements
- Scribe and profile GRP components for precision fit
- Basic plumbing of sinks, toilets and showers
- Final fitting of hardware - port holes, white goods, gas struts, locks and handles and hatches
- Fitting canopies, hard tops and windows.
- Running trunking for air con and central heating systems
- Make patterns for customising and custom fitting of units/equipment
- Responsible for the safe keeping and protection of products, materials and purchased items applicable to the boat in the work area at the time
- Detailed instructions from purchased or development products to be interpreted
- Daily use of a wide range of hand tools and machinery
- Some local decision making called for to overcome difficulties
- Often required to find alternatives to the standard boat build sequence
Knowledge and experience:
- 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience
- Strong carpentry skills with an eye for detail and flawless finish.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and information.
- Team player, ready to adapt to any production line and transfer skill set depending on business requirements
- Level 3 qualification in carpentry is desirable, but not essential. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
