CNC Operator Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Works Manager / CNC programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a shop of 14 CNC lathes, some turn / mill and 3 HAAS VMCs. This role requires a strong understanding FANUC G code and the ability to interpret technical drawings for programming. There is also the use of ONE CNC Cad / Cam software. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficiency and quality of our production operations.
Duties
- Managing a shop floor of around 20 engineers and 2 manual machine operators.
- Site operates, Doosan, Takisawa, Hwacheon lathes and HAAS VMCs
- Must be experienced in writing Fanuc G code programmes.
- Interpret CAD drawings and specifications to produce high-quality components.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any operational issues.
- Responsible for keeping tabs on H&S on the shopfloor
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and workflow.
Experience
- Proven experience as a previous CNC Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various types of machinery.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience with Fanuc controllers and turn and mill lathes
