Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using specialised tools and equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively to complete tasks.
- Assist with vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing vehicle components.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and service history.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a mechanic or MOT tester within an automotive workshop or dealership environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work physically demanding shifts.
- Relevant qualifications such as MOT testing certification or equivalent are highly desirable.
