Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated self employed Guitar Teacher to join our vibrant musical team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through the joy of music, fostering their creativity and musical skills. This role involves teaching the guitar and tab notation to primary aged children. You will be working during school hours 8.30-4pm maximum per day, at various primary schools in the Maidstone area. Hours depend on how many children sign up but it will be the same for each 2 term period (eg. September - December, Jan - Easter etc). We currently have approximately 2days per week, with the potential to move up to 5 days per week. Teaching is for 33 weeks over the academic year. We will provide a timetable for each school so you would need to be at each school with ample time to start each day.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of students. Teaching materials are provided.
- Be contactable by email and phone for timetable updates.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Prepare students for performances before Christmas and in the summer term.
- Create a positive learning environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and respect for diverse musical styles.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements, which need to be emailed to us weekly.
Requirements
- A passion for encouraging children to develop their musical skills.
- Proficiency in playing the guitar.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching music.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- You must be reliable and able to drive to each school.
- You will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check which we can arrange for you.
- Public Liability Insurance will also be needed. We can provide details of where to get it from.
Pay: £25.00 per hour
