Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive desktop support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and operating system issues promptly.
- Manage computer networking components including LAN (Local Area Network), TCP/IP protocols, DNS (Domain Name System), VPN (Virtual Private Network), and firewall configurations to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
- Support and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory accounts, and Microsoft Office applications to facilitate smooth daily operations.
- Troubleshoot software problems across various platforms such as Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Assist with hardware setup, installation, upgrades, and repairs of computers, peripherals, and network devices.
- Utilize tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy for ticketing, asset management, and issue tracking.
- Conduct analysis of technical issues using strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to improve IT processes and document procedures for future reference.
- Communicate clearly with users through help desk channels to provide timely updates and guidance on technical issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in computer networking including LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, VPN configuration, and firewall security measures.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with desktop support tasks involving hardware troubleshooting and software troubleshooting across multiple platforms.
- Familiarity with Active Directory administration for user account management and permissions setup.
- Experience working with enterprise tools like SCCM for system deployment and updates; ServiceNow or Jira for incident management; BMC Remedy for service requests is a plus.
- Understanding of network security principles including firewall management and VPN setup to protect organizational data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong analysis skills to diagnose issues efficiently and implement effective resolutions swiftly.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
