Job Title: Transport Supervisor
Reporting to: Transport Manager
Location: Synergy LMS Dunstable
Referencing Requirements: CRB Checks, references to be viewed
Job Purpose
As part of the Synergy LMS management team this role will manage the transport service so that it is a fit for purpose service appropriate to the varying and changing needs of Synergy LMS customers.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain and promote a strong Health and safety culture both personally and within your team, ensure all policies are adhered to and identify and minimize risk where possible
· Take a role in planning, allocating routes and vehicles ensuring sufficient flexibility is in place to meet the varying and changing needs of customers.
· Help to ensure in house vehicles are compliant with all legal, regulatory and contractual requirements, and where necessary escalating any identified issues and recommending resolution to the service provider.
· Ensure that all drivers are compliant and hold valid licenses to drive and driver CPC is valid and up to date using the systems in place
· Monitor and debrief driver infringements in a timely manner
· Ensuring transport staff deliver the service appropriate to the changing needs of customers in line with relevant guidance and individual risk assessments
· Manage and develop a team of drivers, in order to deliver a high-quality service to customers including the monitoring of driver related performance.
· To take the lead in resolving unforeseen problems as they arise ensuring appropriate resolution of these and to utilize the learning to plan for future similar scenarios
· The making of arrangements to ensure that the vehicle/s are not overloaded.
· To work as a member of the Synergy LMS management team, undertaking delegated tasks and responsibilities in line with the emerging needs and operational requirements of the service
· Ensure existing KPI data reports are inputted on a daily basis
· To promote a sense of common purpose through the embodiment of Synergy LMS Mission, Vision and Values
· To ensure high standards of service delivery through the consistent application of recognized standards and established policies, procedures and practices
· Undertake disciplinary investigations and action where required up to final written warning stage
Qualifications
· No Transport Management qualification required however good conversant knowledge of transport operational compliance and understanding
· Class 2 Driving License Required.
Experience & Abilities
· Experience in a similar supervisory role in the transport sector, including supervision of staff
· Excellent written and verbal communication
