Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of building tasks, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a diverse range of construction skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to the realisation of residential projects.
Duties
Site Preparation and Clean-up:
- Clear and prepare construction sites, including removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
- Load and unload building materials, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the job site throughout the project.
Manual Labour and Support:
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, or compact earth using hand tools and basic machinery.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians, etc.) with materials and tasks.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and barricades.
Equipment Operation (Basic):
- Transport materials using wheelbarrows, carts, or hand trucks.
- Site machinery and tools.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all site safety regulations and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report potential hazards or unsafe working conditions.
- Follow instructions from the site foreman or supervisor.
Physical Demands:
- Perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions and environments.
Skills
- Proven experience in the construction industry
- In depth knowledge of building works.
- A general understanding of other trades
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good physical fitness and stamina for manual labour over extended periods
- Knowledge of materials used in construction projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- Tools of the trade
- Must have own vehicle to travel to site.
- Must live within a 12 mile radius of our SK9 postcode
- A minimum of 5 years in a simliar role is required.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about construction who are eager to develop their skills further while contributing to high-quality building projects.
What we offer:
- Fully employed role. Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm
- 28 days holiday per year including bank holidays.
