We are a private investment group moving from private markets into hedge funds, ETFs and public equities. This is our first dedicated research hire.
You will report directly to the Managing Director and build the research process from scratch. Your work will inform decisions across three related investment vehicles, and you will work alongside an external hedge fund selection specialist.
There is no layer between your analysis and the decision.
What you'll do
- Build and run our ETF portfolio construction framework — allocation, cost and liquidity screening, rebalancing
- Research public companies: valuation, financial modelling, sector comparables
- Build and maintain systematic screens across equities and fixed income
- Monitor existing positions and flag changes to the investment case
- Support hedge fund manager screening and due diligence alongside our external adviser
- Produce a regular macro and market summary for investment meetings
- Write clear research notes that go straight to the decision-maker
What we need
- 4+ years in investment management, investment banking, asset management or alternatives
- Real depth in equity research — valuation, financial statements, building an investment case
- Strong quantitative skills; able to build models, not just use them
- Advanced Excel, plus Python or similar for screening and analysis
- Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv or equivalent
- Excellent written English
- The judgement to work independently
Useful but not essential: multi-asset or allocation experience, hedge fund exposure, fixed income background, CFA/IMC/ACCA at any level.
What we offer
- £55,000–£65,000 depending on experience
- Performance bonus, discussed at offer stage
- Salary reviewed at 12 months against agreed milestones
- Company pension
- Funded professional qualifications, including study leave
- Mayfair office, some working from home
Why take it
You will own the research function rather than inherit one. The frameworks you build become how we make decisions. The work spans equities, fixed income, ETFs and hedge fund allocation - not one narrow sleeve.
If you want scope and ownership, this is the role. If you want the resources of a large institution, it isn't.
Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
Benefits:
Work Location: In person
