Rehabilitation support worker:
Thompson Holistic Care Services (THCS) is a domiciliary care agency based in London, whose mission is supporting Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivors across the UK.
THCS specialises in supporting clients with histories of non-engagement - whether due to breakdowns in professional and personal relationships - through person-centered support packages.
At THCS, we support adults living with enduring, complex brain injuries and support needs to live more safely and independently in their own homes and communities.
With the high-quality continuity of support provided by our rehabilitation support workers, we work with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) such as case managers, social workers, and therapists to carry out evidence-based rehabilitation programs.
THCS takes pride in delivering high-quality continuity of support for all of our clients, whilst support all of our staff. We recruit specifically and to permanent roles, providing highly-trained and experienced rehabilitation support workers to find the right ‘match’ for our clients - most of our support workers have been working closely with us for more than four years.
Our organisation has been described as a “phenomenal” boutique support service, often going above and beyond to help those with life-changing injuries to get their lives back on track.
Our client is a 50-60 years old who would like a support worker to help him with his daily activities. 12 hours per week split into 3 x 4 hour sessions. Our client enjoys spending time with his dog and getting out in the community, he would prefer a RSW who is more mature ie 30 years+, this is preffered not essential.
No personal care is required, but responsibilities would include: Supporting our client with tasks such as shopping, cooking, domestic tasks, budgeting and accessing community opportunities. He is working with therapists to become more independent with these task, so he requires a like-minded male rehabilitation support worker to assist him to engage with these activities of daily living, plus motivating him to engage with his wider rehabilitation programme to live more independently over time.
The ideal rehabilitation support worker should be a resilient, reliable, and experienced support worker who is reliable and approachable, quickly builds and maintains positive working relationships, and works calmly and effectively in challenging situations.
