Vetch is an exciting Solo venture by Dan McGeorge winner of Great British Menu. Vetch is a fine dining restaurnt with 26 covers fusing fine dining food with a relaxed casual atmosphere.
Vetch is open 4 days a week Wednesday-Saturdays.
Due to the nature of the business there will set holidays, ensuring that everyone enjoys the Christmas period off and the opportunity to have some time in the sun in summer and others spread throughout the year.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, supervising kitchen day to day and ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant. If you have a passion for culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and a strong background in food production, we would love to hear from you.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the small kitchen team, including cooking and food preparation.
- Ensure that food is prepared and cooked according to established recipes and quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Train new kitchen staff members on proper food handling and safety procedures
- Collaborate with the headchef and owner to develop new menu items and specials
- Oversee the plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet our high standards
- Address any customer concerns or complaints regarding food quality or service
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a culinary or supervisory role within the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in relation to food handling and sanitation
- Flexibility to work
- Experience in a 2 AA rosette plus establishment
