Store Supervisor (Lead Barista): Monico's Deli, Bramhall
About Monico's
Monico's is a brand-new independent delicatessen, café and wine shop opening in Bramhall. Our vision is simple: a warm, genuinely inviting place, somewhere people come back not just for the food and wine, but because of how it feels to walk through the door. We're looking for people who love good food and drink, but just as importantly, people who are brilliant with customers and want to become part of the Monico's family, not just fill a shift.
The role
You'll be a keyholder and lead barista, setting the standard for coffee and service, and running the shop day-to-day.
What you'll be doing
- Making and pulling coffee to a genuinely high standard, and coaching the team to do the same, with previous experience in a speciality coffee environment
- Supervising the shift: opening/closing, cash and till reconciliation, stock deliveries
- Working the deli counter alongside the team: cutting and serving meats and cheese, building sandwiches to order, taking orders at the till
- Keeping the shop clean, stocked and ready to trade
- Supporting supplier-led wine tastings and private events
- Helping train and onboard new starters as the team grows
What we're looking for
- Experience supervising or leading a shift in a café, deli, food retail or hospitality setting, we'd ideally like to see this on your application
- Confident, hands-on, comfortable being the first point of contact and holding the keys
- Strong barista skills and latte art
- Genuine enthusiasm for good food and drink
- An interest in wine (WSET or otherwise) is a real bonus but not essential; we'll teach you what you need
- Able to work weekends; Friday and Saturday will be our busiest shifts
What we offer
- £14.25/hour, reviewed as the business grows
- Full training before opening: barista/coffee, food prep, and our concept and service standards, plus online modules in food hygiene, allergen awareness and other essential subjects
- Workplace pension
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (via BrightHR): confidential counselling, virtual GP access, and financial and wellbeing support, for you and your family, every day of the year
- Staff discount
- The chance to help shape a brand-new independent business from day one, not join an established rota
Our process
We'll interview everyone we shortlist, we're looking for the right fit for the Monico's team as much as the right experience on paper.
