Chef / Sous Chef – Guy's Bar & Restaurant, Patrington Haven Leisure Park
Guy's Bar & Restaurant at Patrington Haven Leisure Park is looking for a reliable and motivated Chef/Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a key role where you'll contribute to delivering consistently high-quality food in a busy, friendly, and fast-paced environment, with genuine scope for career progression for the right candidate.
About the Role
You will work as part of the kitchen team supporting day-to-day service, preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard, and ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Depending on experience, this role may involve supporting or deputising for the Head Chef, helping to lead sections during service. This role is ideal for someone looking to be part of a family-run business, where team members are valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes to specification
- Work across various sections of the kitchen as required
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness at all times
- Support the team during service to ensure smooth delivery, stepping in to help lead where needed
- Follow portion control, stock rotation, and waste management procedures
- Help ensure consistent quality and timely service during busy periods
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
About You
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment (pub, restaurant, or hotel preferred)
- A good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (desirable, but not essential)
