We’re looking for a motivated Junior Apprentice Calibration Technician to join our busy electrical and instrumentation calibration laboratory. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians who calibrate, test, and repair electrical, gas, and multifunction analysers used across industrial and safety-critical environments.
This role is ideal for someone who has a real interest in electronics, instrumentation, or engineering and wants to build a long-term career in calibration and testing. Full training will be provided, including support through relevant engineering or metrology qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with calibrating, and maintaining a wide range of Gas detection and Electrical tools
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and machinery to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Help document calibration activities, equipment logs, and certificates accurately
- Participate in troubleshooting minor technical issues under supervision to develop fault finding and technical skills
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently during daily tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework is a plus but not required
- Strong interest in electrical engineering preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude toward learning
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of safety procedures related to workshop environments is advantageous
