Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential (EBD)

We are working in partnership with an established and growing provider of children’s residential care to recruit a Deputy Manager for a 3-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children’s home based in Northampton.

The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in leading and developing the staff team while creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the daily running of the home
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a dedicated residential care team
- Promoting outstanding safeguarding practices and positive outcomes for young people
- Ensuring care plans are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed
- Maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and inspection readiness
- Building positive relationships with local authorities, external professionals, and families
- Supporting the delivery of therapeutic, child-centred care for young people with emotional and behavioural needs
The Ideal Candidate
- An experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker ready to take the next step
- Previous experience working within an EBD children's residential setting
- Strong knowledge of children's residential legislation, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
- A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passionate about achieving positive outcomes and making a lasting difference in young people's lives
