Roles That Matter
As an Engineer – Strategic Highways Maintenance, you will ensure that robust strategic and reactive maintenance principles are applied to the management of the condition of the highway network.
You should be experienced in highways maintenance and have the ability to efficiently and effectively deliver Highway Infrastructure & Improvement Projects from planning to implementation, taking a lead role ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
Other requirements of the role include site supervision duties, have a knowledge of health and safety procedures and legislation, investigate and resolve customer enquiries, and to have experience liaising directly with elected members, resident groups, members of the public, representatives from the emergency services and other public agencies.

Employees can regularly work away from Council workspaces (including home or other locations), alongside required office-based working. The balance between remote and office-based working is determined at service level based on operational need, however, there has been a minimum specification that staff will work at least 2 days from an office-based location.
