We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Cook to work in our family run care home in Whitley Bay.
This will be two days per week to cater for a 20 bed nursing home.
Week 1 - Thursday 09:00 - 17:00 & Friday 09:00 - 17:00
Week 2 - Saturday 09:00 - 17:00 & Sunday 09:00 - 17:00
Working in a unique family ran nursing home, for General Nursing Home. We work closely with the Health Authority and Local Councils, providing high quality care within a purpose built home with amazing views of the coast.
We care for a range of different people with various health conditions, such as Cerebral Palsy, Huntingdon’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, brain injuries as well as Palliative care and general nursing.
The home has a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu guidelines.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained in the kitchen.
- Assist in meal preparation and ingredient organization for efficient cooking.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage food inventory and minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Provide excellent service by plating and presenting dishes attractively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a kitchen environment
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on meal preparation and food safety
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and serving techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
