Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Part Time Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a lively café environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a welcoming atmosphere, preparing and serving food and beverages, cash handling and ensuring the smooth operation of daily café activities. You must have full flexibility 9-5 Monday-Saturday every week
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders with attentiveness and professionalism
- Prepare hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to quality standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system and provide correct change
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts
- Follow food safety regulations diligently to ensure customer safety and satisfaction
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or serving experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers
- Friendly, approachable manner with a positive attitude towards customer service
- Organised with an eye for detail to maintain cleanliness and order in the café environment
