Job Responsibilities
- Carry out general street cleansing duties across the county borough, including litter picking and maintaining clean public areas.
- Ensure streets, pathways, and communal areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Safely operate relevant tools and equipment required for cleansing activities.
- Assist with grass cutting and grounds maintenance duties where required (training/qualification such as City & Guilds, Lantra, or equivalent would be advantageous).
- Follow health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any issues, hazards, damaged facilities, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Work effectively as part of a team to deliver high-quality environmental services.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining good standards of public service.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in street cleansing, grounds maintenance, or a similar outdoor role is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good level of physical fitness with the ability to undertake manual tasks, including litter picking and general maintenance duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good awareness of health and safety practices.
- Willingness to undertake training and develop new skills.
- A City & Guilds, Lantra, or equivalent qualification in grounds maintenance/grass cutting would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering a high standard of work.
Pay: £12.85 per hour
