JOB PURPOSE
Support the Peer Support Manager to deliver the IPS programme at Yeovil Community Church and other local community locations, in line with our strategy, values and vision, by:
· Facilitating peer support groups and providing a welcoming, safe space for people to connect, share and feel a sense of community.
· Providing tailored support around issues affecting families by expanding networks and connecting with other local organisations and professionals.
· Managing a small caseload and providing one-to-one support for families attending groups outside of group time, as and when more personal or confidential matters arise.
· Working as part of a team to plan and deliver half-term activities, identify fundraising opportunities, and contribute to the programme in line with our vision.
JOB DESCRIPTION
· Attend an initial home visit with the client to begin building a relationship and encourage them to attend a group.
· Maintain a good knowledge of services in the local area in order to link clients to additional services that meet their specific needs.
· Attend other groups in the area, where appropriate, to network and promote the service.
· Run a peer support group on a set day each week and attend another set group each week in a supporting role to the Link Worker leading the group. This includes setting up and packing away equipment used on the day.
· Collect data and evidence needed for funding and grant applications.
· Work on a one-to-one basis with families and individuals for short periods when the need for more privacy and involvement arises outside of group time.
· Innovate and support the development and expansion of groups.
· Listen to the needs of the attendees.
· Reflect on group delivery and adapt practice as needed.
· Plan and deliver sessions.
· Build and maintain relationships with clients, team members and volunteers involved in the groups.
· Monitor group progress and input data accurately and in a timely manner.
· Act with integrity and an open mind, and adhere to confidentiality and data protection agreements.
· Use an allocated budget and submit expenditure records.
